John Snorri reaches the summit of K2

Last Friday, 28th of July, John Snorri became the first Icelander to reach the top og K2 in Pakistan. The mountain reaches 8611 m above sea level and is the second tallest in the world, only Mt. Everest is taller.

No one has reached the top of K2 since 2014. Also considering the K2-statistics this expedition is a great achievement.

Earlier this summer John Snorri also became the first Icelander to reach the top og Lhotse, 8561, but Lhotse is the fourth tallest mountain in the world

Amazing summer for John Snorri. The Icelandic alpine club congratulates John on this great achievement!
